'06 Hyundai Sonata

The 2006 Hyundai Sonata is a pretty roomy mid-size sedan that places the company on a firm footing in this segment with breakthrough design and new features. It is well equipped with grander technical features and sharper looks as compared to those previously available in the Sonata range in earlier years.

The 2006 Hyundai Sonata is available in a one body style and a four-door, five-passenger seating arrangement. It is available in two engine options and three transmission options with the base I-4 2.4 liter engine producing 162 horsepower and the bigger 3.3 liter V-6 engine producing 235 horsepower.

The four cylinders come with an option of either a five-speed manual transmission capability, or a four-speed Shiftronic auto feature. In either case, your safety features would be more than adequate, and you would probably have no reason to complain. The Sonata an ideal family car thanks to its reliability and safety features.

The 2006 Sonata is available with extensive safety features like front seat side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags.

2006 Hyundai Sonata

The 2006 Hyundai Sonata is the first year model in the fourth generation lineup of the Sonata. Engine choices have been retuned and redesigned, now offering drivers the choice of either a 2.4L Inline-4 producing 162HP and 164FTLB of torque or the performance-oriented 3.3L V-6 engine boasting an incredible 235HP and 226FTLB of torque.

Fuel economy for the 2006 Hyundai Sonata has been improved greatly over previous generations. The 2.4L Inline-4 has an EPA-estimated 24mpg in the city and 34mpg on the highway while the 3.3L V-6 holds an EPA-estimated 20MPG around the city and 30MPG on the highway.

Drivers have the choice of either a 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission on a front-wheel-drive platform sitting on 107” wheel-base tires.
